Manchester United have entered the hunt to sign England defender Sol Campbell.

The centre back has refused to sign a new contract with the London club and has been linked with a move to Italy in he summer as Tottenham look to cash in on their major asset. Now United are set to offer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a £20 million package that will see them meet Campbell's £15 million valuation and add the Norwegian international into the deal.

Juventus were proposing to sign Campbell who has also been targeted during last summer by AS Roma and Real Madrid but United have long admired the Tottenham captain and at only 23 are prepared to break the world record fee for a defender to sign him.

Tottenham have also approached AS Bari with a £6 million offer to sign Swedish wide striker Yksel Osmanovski. The 22 year old forward is a regular international and is in good form this season with the club on the heel of Italy.
