Euro 2000 organisers have played down complaints by fans who have fallen foul of a computer problem in the ticketing process.
Speaking in Amsterdam yesterday the first problems in the ticket allocation plan for the finals next summer in Belgium and Holland the organisers tried to dampen fears that up to three thousand of the first allocation of tickets had not been process correctly after computer malfunction according to 'The Independent' newspaper in london.
The problems are so far small scale compared to the ticket chaos that engulfed the World Cup in France and the Euro 2000 organisers have consciously tried to avoid the ticket plans produced for that tournament which caused so much grief for fans.
Richaard Van Der Eijk spoke for the organisers and said that refunds were possible and that some applications were being completed by hand. The second batch of tickets go on sale in December once the complete list of finalists have been complied but many of the 1600 complaints have arisen from fans who have not been given the tickets they applied for.
