Larsson says Euro 2000 dream is dead

First Published: Apr 14, 2000

Swedish international striker Henrik Larsson has ended his battle to be fit for Euro 2000.

The Glasgow Celtic star was on course for a sensational recovery fro a double leg break suffered in Lyon during a UEFA Cup tie but was injured again in a reserve team game three weeks ago.

The Swedes regarded Larsson as an outside chance to be fit but the new injury means his recovery has been put back by around five weeks and he will not be fit to make the June 1st deadline for the announcement of Euro 2000 squads.
