First Published: Apr 29, 2000

Fenerbahce have appointed Turkish national team manager Mustapha Denizli as their next coach.

The club fired Zdenek Zeman in January and he lasted only three months in the position.

Fenerbahce had made a move to bring Fiorentina coach Giovanni Trapattoni to the club for next season but chose Denizli after his good work with the national team. Denizli will join Fenerbahce after the end of Euro 2000 in July. He has agreed a two year contract with the club who are fourth in the Turkish league at the moment.
