Aston Villa enter chase for Nilis

Aston Villa have joined the queue to offer Luc Nilis a contract after the Belgian international leaves PSV Eindhoven.

Nilis is set to quit the Dutch league leaders under the Bosman ruling in the summer and has already been approached to move to England by Sheffield Wednesday and Chelsea.

The 29 year old recently agreed to return to international football after quitting the national side after the 1998 World Cup. Nilis is a likely starter for Belgium wen they host the Euro 2000 finals in the summer and will spend three days from this Friday at Villa as the club's guest.
