SS Lazio to use Conceicao in Crespo talks
First Published: Jun 23, 2000SS Lazio are to add Portuguese star Sergio Conceicao to transfer talks with Parma AC in the hope of signing Argentine star Hernan Crespo.
The Italian champions want to use Conceicao as part of the deal that could see striker Crespo move to Rome.
Crespo is keen to move to Lazio but Parma will need cash plus players to actually do any deal but the addition of Conceicao to talks could see a deal for Crespo concluded by mid July.
Conceicao hit three goals in a 3-0 Portugal win over Germany on Tuesday night at Euro 2000 but he is not a certain start in tomorrow's first quarter final when Humberto Coelho's side face Turkey. Portugal fielded a second team against Germany to rest their stars before the knockout stage but Conceicao's outstanding match-winning performance has pushed him close to selection against the Turks.
