Juventus have reached agreement with French champions AS Monaco in their attempt to buy striker David Trezeguet on a £22 million fee for the player.
The striker is with the Euro 2000 squad at the moment but is now expected to join the Turin giants in a £22 million move in July.
The arrival of Trezeguet after a month of negotiations by Juve executive Luciano Moggi is likely to see Yugoslav international forward Darko Kovacevic sold and the French star's purchase is not thought to threaten Filippo Inzaghi's place in the Juventus team.
The details of Trezeguet's transfer have still to be sorted out but a price has been agreed and Trezeguet was linked with a move to Turin in the summer of 1998 after appearing in all but one of France's games but a deal could not be reached.
The player was raised in Argentina but holds a French pass port and has been keen to leave Monaco after helping to win the championship by scoring more than twenty goals.
