Spain name squad to face Italy
First Published: Mar 24, 2000Spain have announced their squad to face Italy next week.
Omissions include Luis Enrique and defenders Fernando Hierro and Sergi Barjuan through injury although Celta Vigo defender Juanfran Garcia fresh from UEFA Cup duty and Malaga midfielder Francisco Rufete have earned their first ever international call-ups.
Both Spain and Italy feature in this summer’s Euro 2000 championships.
The Squad in full:
Goalkeepers: Canizares, Molina
Defenders: Fernandez, Garcia, Velasco, Aranzabal, Jemez
Midfielders: Valeron, Guardiola, Gonzalez, Rufete, Engonga, Helguera
Forwards: Etxeberria, Urzaiz, Perez, Gonzalez, Munitis
