Germany have recalled veteran midfielder Thomas Haessler for Euro 2000.
The last of the TSV 1860 player's 97 appearances for Germany came in the last World Cup finals two years ago where former coach Berti Vogts dumped him during the group stages. Captain Oliver Bierhoff has been campaigning to recall Haessler after several poor recent performances saw the German media call for his inclusion in the squad after some good form for TSV this season.
Outspoken Bayern Munich midfielder Jens Jeremies has been named in the squad but is still recovering from a broken collar bone. Jeremies is expected to be fit and was dumped from a recent friendly after telling 'Kicker' magazine that Germany - the defending European champions - had "no chance" of winning Euro 2000.
