Israel 0 Denmark 5

Denmark have both feet in the finals next summer after they outclassed Israel in Tel Avaiv.

Their five goal advantage will be increased in Copenhagen on Weenesday night as the Israeli side has no answer the strengths that Denmark brought to this encounter.

Better passing an an imposing powrr game based on tough tackling and hard running dismantled Israeli defences and they were lucky not to lose by more. Play maker Haim Revivo will also miss the return leg after a 58th minute red card for an ugly lunge from behind to fell Chelsea defender Jes Hogh. Revivo will celebrate his red card tonight as that means he wil not have to face the Danes again.

The home side barely had a kick and were a goal down inside two minutes from a close range finish from Feyenoord's Jon Dahl Tomason who hit a low drive in the 33rd minute for his scond goal of the night.

Stig Toefting blasted in a a 67th minute free kick from distance for the third and a looping header from Martin Jorgensen made it four only seconds later.

The rampant Danes saw Brian Steen Nielsen drive in a 75th minute shot to end a game that was one of the most one sided in Euro 2000 so far - and this is a competition that saw Austria lose 9-0 to Spain last March.

The only low point for Denmark is that this win gives no true indication of how good their side is because Israel were so very poor.
