Denmark win 8-0 on aggregate
Denmark produced a fine attacking display with this tie already won to celebrate their pace in the finals next summer.
As a unit with stamina and technique the Danes have emerged over the past three months as one of the form sides in Europe and they found it easy to dispose of the Israel side who were already 5-0 down coming into this game.
Israel made six changes from that hammering but Denmark took only three minutes to get into the lead. Martin Joergensen produced a hard shot on the turn which was spilled by goalkeeper Shavit Elimelech to Ebbe Sand who took the chance with a clipped finish.
Brain Steen Nielsen hit an excellent swerving free kick into the net in the 14thminute to make it two and Jon Dahl Tomasson hit a close range finish in the 64th minute with Peter Schmeichel playing only 18 minutes in goal before Thomas Soerensen took over but Denmark did not need one top class goalkeeper for this game never mind two.
