10 man Yugoslavia recovered from 3-0 down with against Slovenia to stay in Group C contention in Euro 2000.
The wildest game yet at this year's finals saw the Slovenians make an impressive debut into the tournament but Yugoslavia rampaged back into the match with two goals from Savo Milosevic after Sinisa Mihajlovic had been red carded in the 59th minute for pushing over Udovic to earn a second yellow card.
Slovenia started very well with a 3rd minute low free kick from Milinovic going just wide and a fierce Rudonja drive almost found the target seconds later as they attacked down the left hand side.
Zlatko Zahovic put Slovenia into a deserved 23rd minute lead as Yugoslavia looked tired and weary. The Olympiakos rebel was on the end of a cross from the left by Karac to place an angled header into the net.
Karic himself came close with a 44th minute header that dipped over the bar but the real action took place in the second half.
Five minutes after the restart Pavlin headed in a clipped cross and Karic came close with a 53rd minute header.
Then Zahovic became the top scorer at Euro 2000 when Mihajlovic made an error by passing the ball to the striker on the edge of the penalty area and the young star ran in towards goalkeeper Kralj and knocked the ball over his dive into the net.
In the 59th minute came Mihajlovic's red card and all hope seemed lost for Yugoslavia.
It was at this point that the game began to turn as the Yugoslavs produced extended periods of possession with substitute Dragan Stojkovic becoming more influential.
Substitute Savo Milosevic started the fight back with an easy knock in after Drulovic had seen a header from wide of the goal bounce on top of the frame and into the goal mouth.
Mijatovic passed inside from the left in the 68th minute to Drulovic in front of the penalty spot and he scooped a left foot shot into the far corner to really rock the previously confident Slovenians.
Drulovic worked magic to create the third Yugoslav goal with an exceptional dribble down the right hand side in the 73rd minute that allowed him to thread the ball across the face of goal for Mijatovic to score with a simple tap in and complete an astonishing recovery from a team that looked completely lost after an hour.
Rudonja launched a whipping drive on the run down the left which Dabanovic held well and substitute Matija Kezman headed a free kick over the bar to complete another highly enjoyable Euro 2000 match.
