Sporting Lisbon (Div. 1)
The new stadium was built beside the one it replaced and was modeled after the Amsterdam Arena in Holland. The oval exterior is covered in light green tiles, the colours of host club Sporting Lisbon. Located less than two kilometres from the stadium of arch rivals Benfica. Also features a large commercial area with a cinema, a playground, a clinic and a megastore. Was inaugerated with a friendly against Manchester United on August 6, 2003, which Sporting won 3-1.
