Veteran defender Richard Gough is to join the coaching set up with Scotland as they prepare for the opening match against Brazil next month with two matches in the USA.
Gough played in Mexico and Italy and as long as his club duties in the MLS with the San Jose Clash allow, the 35 year old will be on hand to assist coach Craig Brown with his experience of preparing for and playing in World Cups.
Brown was the assistant coach when Gough's international career folded after 61 caps when he clashed with Brown's predeccesor, Andy Roxburgh, over tactics after a humiliating 5-0 defeat in Portugal five years ago.
