Germany are counting the cost of their win in Paris against the USA last night.
Midfielder Thomas Hassler limped off after an hour with a foot injury. He will be X-Rayed this afternoon to find the extent of the damage but coach Berti Vogts must hope the player makes a full and quick recovery.
The Germans extended their lead with a goal from Jurgen Klinsmann in Hassler's absence but never looked as effective without his prompting.
The injury may need corrective surgery and Vogts may be able to call up a replacement but there is no doubt that Hassler is the best player in his position for Germany and began the game last night in impressive form.
