Bayer Leverkusen have rejected the latest offer for their Brazilian star Emerson from AS Roma.
The £20 million offer does not met the Bundesliga club's valuation of the midfielder and Bayer are refusing to sell until at least June of next year. The 23 year old is one of the best midfielders in Europe and Roma have made four bids to try and bring the player to Serie A. A clause in Emerson's contract allows him to leave next June if he wants and Parma AC are also keen to bid for the international.
AS Roma have been linked with a move for Perugia's Japanese star Hidetoshi Nakata if their latest effort to sign Emerson failed. The Italian transfer season opens for one week from January 4th.
