OM sell Diawara to PSG

First Published: Dec 30, 1999

Olympique Marseille have completed a clear out of their strike force by selling former Arsenal forward Kaba Diawara to Paris Saint Germain.

Diawara joined OM from the London club in June after only six months in the Premiership following a transfer from Bordeaux a year ago.

The 24 year old has signed a four and a half year contract with PSG and his sale follws the departure of Christophe Dugarry from the Marseille club this afternoon. Dugarry has joined his former club Bordeaux while OM were unsuccesful yesterday in a bid for Coventry City striker Mustapha Hadji. OM may now try and revive their interest in the Moroccan as strikers are a definite priority following the departure of Diawara and Dugarry today.

Arsenal are also keen to sign OM's Robert Pires but the French international has so far refused attempts to negotiate a deal with the Premiership club.
