The Champions League final on Wednesday night will be overseen by Italy's top referee.

39 year old Pierluigi Collina will take charge of the game in the Camp Nou between Bayern Munich and Manchester United and will have two Italian linesmen to act as his assistants.

Collina is often handed the toughest assignments in Italy and is well regarded. He is strict and considered fair but he has a history of controversial decisions and has officiated at the last two World Cups.
