Cragnotti says Salas stays with Lazio

SS Lazio president Sergio Cragnotti has denied reports that the club are to sell Chilean striker Marcello Salas.

The striker scored twice yesterday in a 2-1 win that took the Rome based club to within a point of the Italian championship. There had been speculation that Cragnotti would sell his £18 million signing from last summer to fund a move for Parma AC midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron but that transfer is in its early stages and Lazio's owner denied a plan to let Salas leave the club.
