Yugoslavian clubs have been barred from the forthcoming Inter Toto Cup.
The summer's event sees clubs compete for places in next season's massively expanded UEFA Cup competition. A UEFA Task Force meeting in Barcelona has recommended that the Yugoslav clubs do not take part and are replaced by high finishers in the Macedonian first division. This delays the draw of the competition until June 15th and opens the question of whether Yugoslav clubs will be barred from the UEFA Cup and the Champions League itself.
The Task Force is looking into both questions but the June 5th Euro 2000 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin remains definitely on for the Yugoslav national team who are still competitors in the European Championships.
