OM rival Monaco for Ferrara

First Published: Jun 26, 2001

Olympique Marseille are offering Ciro Ferrara a contract for next season.

The Naples-born veteran centre back is to leave Juventus after seven years and has also been contacted by AS Monaco and former team mate Didier Deschamps who is now their coach but OM have put together a three year contract for the ex-Italian international.

Ferrara is available on a free transfer from Juventus but if OM fail to win him from Monaco then they have put in a £3 million bid to new Argentine champions San Lorenzo to buy 26 year old centre back Eduardo Tuzzi.
