Everton have agreement to sign Radzinski

First Published: Jun 29, 2001

Everton have moved closer to signing striker Tomas Radzinski from Anderlecht.

Anderlecht rejected a £6 million offer from Everton for their Canadian striker last week but more talks between the two clubs have produced a verbal agreement between the two clubs.

The Belgian champions wanted £8 million for the 27 year old finisher and Everton did increase their offer for the player who hit 23 goals last season for Anderlecht. Everton are to pay £6.5 million for the striker ih he can agree personal terms.

The Merseyside club could lose left back Michael Ball if he refuses to sign a new contract with the Premiership club. Ball was wanted by Arsenal last year and the London club may still revive their interest although Everton will listen to any offers of £5 million for the England under-21 player and Blackburn are keen.
