Liverpool and Arsenal look at Hofland

Sol Campbell will confirm on Sunday his new contract with Inter leaving Liverpool and Arsenal now looking at Dutch defender Kevin Hofland.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United watched Hofland with Dutch champions PSV last season but Arsenal are close to offering £9 million for the 21 year old centre back.

Hofland was signed last year by PSV from Fortuna Sitard and has graduated from the Dutch under-21 squad to the full Holland team. He is valued at £10 million by PSV but the price of defenders was pushed up yesterday by OM's £14 million deal with Standard Liege to buy Daniel Van Buyten who is not even a full international.
