Strasbourg will confirm Ivan Hasek as their new coach soon after he quit Sparta Prague.
The 38 year old has been in contact with the French club for more than a year and is to replace Yves Pouliquen who was fired yesterday after taking the club to a French Cup win.
Strasbourg beat Amiens 5-4 on penalties to win the Cup but were relegated into the second division two weeks ago. Paraguay star goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert scored the winning penalty kick and could stay at the club to work with Hasek after cooling on a move to Penarol in Uruguay.
Hasek has won two consecutive championships with Sparta but played for Strasbourg from 1990 to 1995.
