Tottenham ask Rangers for Caniggia

Tottenham have asked Glasgow Rangers to sell them Argentine veteran Claudio Caniggia before he has even played a game for the Ibrox club.

Caniggia was signed three weeks ago after an excellent season with Dundee but the London club are prepared to pay £2.5 million for the former Boca Juniors and AS Roma star.

Middlesbrough are also interested in Caniggia.
