Blackburn join Arsenal in Ball race

First Published: May 31, 2001

Newly promoted Premiership club Blackburn Rovers are to rival Arsenal in a bid to sign Everton left back Michael Ball.

Blackburn manager Graeme Souness is prepared to pay £6 million for the England under-21 regular but Ball has been linked with a move to Arsenal for more than a year and Everton need to sell players to finance summer spending plans of their own. The loss of Ball though would not be popular with their fans.
