Morton crisis sees every player sacked

First Published: May 31, 2001

Scottish club Morton have sacked every player on its staff as they battle to survive after relegation to the second division.

The Greenock club only had ten registerered players after they went into administration and all have now been made redundant along with manager Ally Maxwell.

The Morton club need an immediate buyer or they will close after 127 years of senior football. The club won the Scottish Cup in 1922.
