Former Italian giants SS Napoli have been raided by Italian finance police wanting to search the Serie B club's accounts.
Napoli - twice champions of Italy when led by Diego Maradona - have faced such police action before but this time it could lead to bankruptcy proceedings.
The club's president Giorgio Corbelli and bitter boardroom Corrado Ferlaino, again failed to rubber stamp a deal struck last month which would see the latter sell his stake to the former. are engaged in prolonged talks to sell the club.
Corbelli wants to buy Ferlaino's controlling stake in Napoli but no agreement has been reached other than the decision by Ferlaino to quit the Naples club soon.
"The Corbelli group is not capable of going through with the payment of 30% of the price to buy the shares," claimed Ferlaino this week.
"Such circumstances could mean severe consequences both for the club and the relations between both groups."
