Fiery French winger Laurent Robert is to be questioned by his club Newcastle over allegedly attacking a local newspaper reporter following Sunday's 2-1 Premiership defeat of Spurs.
It's claimed the 27-year-old former French international physically attacked the Newcastle Chronicle's Alan Oliver in the press room after the match.
The Frenchman was annoyed over a piece in the newspaper - which was written by another journalist - questioning Robert's attitude.
Chairman Freddy Shepherd and club manager Bobby Robson are now investigating the incident.
In an editorial, the paper's editor Paul Robertson added: "We would like to draw a line under the matter and get on with the matter of reporting on a successful season for Newcastle."
Robert's season which has seen him score once in 15 Premiership appearances has been interrupted by injury, including a back problem as well as a fractured cheekbone.
Last season he scored eight goals in 36 Premiership matches after joining Newcastle from French giants Paris Saint Germain.
