Poles want Boniek as new coach

Former Juventus star Zbigniew Boniek is a contender to be the next manager of Poland.

Jerzy Engel was sacked by Poland two weeks ago after their elimination from the World Cup and Polish federation Michal Listkiewicz has asked Boniek to take over for the Euro 2004 qualifying campaign.

Boniek says he is considering the offer and will respond by July 10th if "certain conditions" are met by the Polish federation he told Polish newspaper 'Rzeczpospolita'.

He wants a senior coach alongside him in his first managerial position.
