West Ham United manager Glenn Roeder has been moved out of intensive care following his collapse because of a blocked blood vessel on his brain and is expected to return to the hotseat in two months time it was revealed.
The 47-year-old will still require neuro-surgery but West Ham released a statement saying the former elegant centre-half for QPR - he was a member of the side that lost in a 1982 FA Cup final replay to Spurs - and Newcastle would make a full recovery.
"Tests have revealed a small lesion in the brain that will require neuro-surgery in the near future," read the statement.
"A full recovery and a return to work is expected within the next six to eight weeks."
West Ham director and former player Trevor Brooking has taken charge of first-team affairs for the remainder of the season and led them to a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in his first game in charge on Sunday.
The Hammers are third from bottom, two points adrift of Bolton and three of Leeds United with two matches remaining.
They play Chelsea at home on Saturday and are away at Birmingham the following Sunday.
