Henrik Larsson was reported to have agreed to come out of international retirement to play for Sweden in the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal.

The striker, who leaves Scottish champions Celtic this summer, has bowed to pressure from Sweden coaches Lars Lagerback and Tommy Soderberg and fans.

The 32-year-old quit the international scene after the 2002 World Cup.

Larsson, who has 24 goals in 72 internationals, came briefly out of retirement in April to help injury-hit Sweden win a Euro 2004 qualifier against Hungary. He had given up international soccer after the 2002 World Cup.

He will now spearhead Sweden's attack in Portugal where they face Italy, Denmark and Bulgaria in Group C.

He has played in two World Cups and two European Championships.
