European champions Porto have signed Brazil midfielder Diego from Brazilian side Santos on a five-year contract.

The club said they paid 7 million euros (8.4 million dollars) for the 19-year-old who scored one of Brazil's penalties in their shoot-out win over Argentina in last week's Copa America final.

His full name is Diego Ribas da Cunha.

Porto sold defenders Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira to English side Chelsea and midfield star Deco to Barcelona in the last month for around 40 million euros.
