Peguy Luyindula was unveiled as Marseille's latest signing to fill the void left by Didier Drogba's departure to Chelsea.

The 25-year-old who moves from champions Lyon told a press conference Friday: "I've come here for pleasure and if there's one place you can get pleasure from playing football it's here in Marseille."

Twice capped for France Luyindula joins the UEFA Cup finalists on a four year contract with Marseille reported to have spent 11 million euros of the 24 million they received from Chelsea for Drogba on his transfer - although neither Marseille or Lyon made any official comment on the fee.

Lyon's top scorer last season with 16 goals he joined the triple titleholders from Strasbourg in 2001 for eight million euros.

Luyindula was tackled on comments he was reported to have made recently suggesting a switch from Lyon to Marseille could be seen as a backward move.

He said his remarks which appeared in the French newspaper Journal du Dimanche had been taken out of context.

"The journalist gave his point of view, but it wasn't mine."

His first match for his new club is due to be a pre-season friendly against Lorient on Saturday.
