Holland ended France's 14-match winning streak but neither of the favourites for the Euro 2004 title managed to score a goal in a pedestrian friendly.

With the reigning European champions lacking stars such as Zinedine Zidane and Patrick Vieira and Holland deprived of Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Patrick Kluivert, both sides had a makeshift appearance.

Only a handful of chances were created in a match which gave few pointers to what to expect at the finals in Portugal.

The first came for France after half an hour of the first half.

Olivier Dacourt threaded an intelligent first-time pass through to Sidney Govou but the Lyon striker's powerful rising shot was tipped over the bar by Edwin Van der Sar.

Bixente Lizarazu should have tested Van der Sar later in the half but the defender fired woefully wide after being picked out well by former Leeds player Dacourt.

Thierry Henry was introduced at half time but even the English Premiership's top scorer failed to break the deadlock.

Holland had their best chance of the game in a goalmouth scramble which ended when Rafael Van der Vaart swung a leg at the ball and stabbed it wide.

It was France's last match before facing Brazil in the FIFA centenary match at the Stade de France on May 20.
