Chelsea defender John Terry has been ruled out of England's squad ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Wales due to a knee injury.

Terry sustained the injury during Chelsea's weekend Premiership game at Tottenham but played on to help his team secure a 2-0 victory.

England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is already without Sol Campbell and Ledley King through injury, meaning Jamie Carragher or Matthew Upson are now set to partner Rio Ferdinand in Saturday's match at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff against Wales.
