Real Madrid vice-president Emilio Butragueno said they were waiting for clearance from the Brazilian Confederation for their 30 million dollar bid for Santos striker Robinho.
The 21-year-old was expected to leave Brazil for 50 million dollars but the player has waived his right to 40-percent of that fee to facilitate the move.
As a result, Real have agreed to pay 60-percent of the Santos demand.
"The door is open but the transfer has not been finalised," Butragueno told the Real website on Friday.
"We'll know definitively in the next 24 or 48 hours."
