Roma captain Francesco Totti extended his contract with the Serie A club.
The 28-year-old striker, who has spent his entire professional career with his hometown club, put pen to paper on a new deal worth 10.4million euros a season that ends in June 2010.
Earlier in the season, Totti had threatened to leave Roma if the board's ambition did not match his own.
Yet despite finishing eighth in the league, a massive 41 points behind champions Juventus, the Italy international has decided to stay loyal to the 'Giallorossi'.
Totti has played for Roma for 13 seasons and helped them to the league title in 2001.
