Alan Curbishley will leave Charlton at the end of the season, the club announced.

There was no immediate announcement what the manager's next career move will be but he was a candidate to succeed Sven Goran Eriksson as England manager and has also been linked with the managerial vacancy at Newcastle.

The announcement was made to the crowd before Charlton's Premiership clash with Blackburn Saturday, their final home fixture of the season and Curbishley, who has been in the job for 15 years, was given a warm reception when he walked out.
