West Germany's 1990 World Cup winner Jurgen Kohler has turned down the chance to become the new manager of the Ivory Coast.
Kohler, capped 105 times for his country, was approached about guiding the nation, who crashed out at the group stage at the World Cup, to the 2008 African Cup of Nations, but declined the offer.
"The Ivory Coast has better players than Bayern Munich but I have turned the offer down as I would rather work as a club coach. I need the daily involvement," Kohler said in Kicker magazine.
The 40-year-old Kohler is a free agent after being sacked by German side MSV Duisburg in April after less than four months in charge.
