SV Hamburg have moved quickly to sign Serbia and Montenegro international striker Danijel Ljuboja on a season's loan from German rivals VfB Stuttgart.

The 27-year-old Ljuboja had been banished to the Stuttgart reserve team after asking for a pay rise and the club revealed Thursday that they had allowed him to join Hamburg on loan with a view to a permanent move.

Ljuboja is Hamburg's third signing inside a week with Dutch international Joris Mathijssen joining in a six-million-euro deal from AZ Alkmaar and Argentina captain Juan Pablo Sorin arriving from Villareal for three million euros.
