Argentine international Pablo Aimar will move to Real Zaragoza in a four-year transfer deal after the Spanish first division side wrapped up negotiations with Valencia.

"After intense negotiations with the footballer's representatives and the club he is contracted to, Real Zaragoza has finalized what it considers to be the most important signing of its history," the club said on its website.

The former River Plate midfielder arrived at Valencia in 2000-2001 and was part of Argentina's World Cup squad who were bundled out in a quarter-final penalty shootout after drawing 1-1 with Germany.

Aimar played almost 200 matches with Valencia, helping them to two Spanish league titles, the UEFA Cup and European Super Cup, and a Champions League final.

Nicknamed "The Clown," Aimar joins compatriots Gabi, Diego Milito and Andres D'Alessandro at Zaragoza where he is scheduled to be presented to fans and the media on Monday.
