Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano have been released by their Brazilian club Corinthians for treatment by Argentina team doctors before next month's World Cup finals.

Midfielder Mascherano and striker Tevez, who have left knee and right ankle problems respectively, will be treated in Buenos Aires by the medical service of their national team.

Both players will almost certainly be included in coach Jose Pekerman's 23-man World Cup squad which will be transmitted to football's world governing body FIFA on Monday.

Argentina meet Holland, Ivory Coast and Serbia-Montenegro in tough first round Group C at the June 9 to July 9 football bonanza in 12 German cities.
