French First Division outfit Sochaux are to appoint experienced coach Alain Perrin as their manager.
The 49-year-old Frenchman, whose last job was with English Premiership side Portsmouth, is to sign a two year contract with the club, who slumped to 15th in the championship race last term and saw his predecessor Dominique Bijotat leave earlier this week.
Perrin, who has also coached among other sides Marseille and United Arab Emirates club Al-Ain, is a disciplinarian coach and made his name with the unheralded side Troyes, who he took from the amateur league in 1993 to European competition in 2001.
