Ivory Coast-born striker Salomon Kalou has become big-spending Chelsea's second signing of the close season after his Dutch club Feyenoord agreed to sell him to the English Premiership giants.
The 20-year-old, who will miss the World Cup after trying unsuccessfully to obtain Dutch nationality to play for the Netherlands rather than the country of his birth - his brother Bonaventure of Paris St Germain plays for Ivory Coast - has signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Kalou made a name for himself in the Dutch capital, scoring 35 goals in 67 matches over the last two seasons and he also won the Johan Cruyff Award for Young Talent in 2005.
Chelsea have already signed Germany captain Michael Ballack from Bayern Munich on a free transfer.
