Glasgow Rangers warmed up for their Champions League campaign by beating Chelsea 2-0 in a pre-season friendly at Ibrox on Saturday.

Nacho Novo found the net on 86 minutes with a 20-yard drive with Filip Sebo, adding the second a minute later with another long-range effort.

Rangers open their Champions League bid on Tuesday with a second-round qualifier against FK Zeta of Montenegro.

Chelsea now have one more pre-season friendly at Brondby on Tuesday before facing Manchester United in the Community Shield on August 5.

"We have to think about the match on Tuesday," said Blues assistant-manager Steve Clarke.

"We have to go away and assess this game, take what we need to take from it and hopefully win the match on Tuesday and go into the Community Shield in a positive frame of mind.

"From there, we will see what happens. But we will be ready for it.

"There were pleasing aspects of the game against Rangers, although the result was disappointing. As a club we don't like to lose any match but, at this stage of the season, there are other priorities."
