Striker Miroslav Klose and goalkeeper Oliver Kahn are Bavaria Munich's main injury doubts for their UEFA Cup first-round second-leg tie at Belenenses in Lisbon on Thursday.

Klose, the top scorer at last year's World Cup, has already scored eight Bundesliga goals this season and played a key role in Saturday's 1-0 league win over Bayer Leverkusen, but is struggling with a knee injury.

And Bayern captain Kahn, who is set to retire from the Bundesliga at the end of the season, missed Saturday's win with a painful elbow injury and is expected to miss the trip to Portugal with Bayern holding a 1-0 first-leg lead.

"Miro still has a few problems," said Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld on Sunday. "It is doubtful he will play on Thursday.

"He still has a lot of pain and sometimes he can't even jog."

Klose's injury will give either Jan Schlaudraff or Lukas Podolski a rare chance to break into the first-team, while 23-year-old Michael Rensing will continue to deputise for Kahn.

"Oliver has had a sore elbow for months and it is being treated," said Hitzfeld. "I hope he can play."
