Loew targets Euro 2008 title with 'beautiful football'

Germany coach Joachim Loew, fresh from signing a contract extension until 2010, said he wanted to win Euro 2008 while playing "beautiful football".

"Our goal is to play an attractive football and win the European title, even if I know that each player must work to improve physically and technically," said Loew.

"I enjoy the full support of the German Football Federation (DFB): that was the prerequisite for extending my contract," said the coach who succeeded Jurgen Klinsmann after the 2006 World Cup.

The contracts of Loew's three assistants, former German internationals Hans-Dieter Flick and Andreas Koepke, and Swiss national Urs Siegenthaler were also all extended.

DFB president Theo Zwanziger was re-elected in his post for a further three years at the federation's annual congress here.

The 62-year-old was the sole person standing and was voted in unanimously by the 252 representatives of professional football clubs in Germany.
