Italy coach Roberto Donadoni challenged his players on Tuesday to earn the right to be included in the 23-man squad that will take part in next summer's Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland.
Italy secured their passage to the finals with a 2-1 win in Scotland on Saturday but still have one match to play against the Faroe Islands here on Wednesday.
And Donadoni told his players that places are still up for grabs in the final squad. He added he will make changes from the team that beat Scotland, giving some fringe players a chance to shine.
"I will take into account who cannot play two matches in a row and who has not played very much," he said.
"There are still four to five places up for grabs. By now the lads know my logic, and there is also an issue about maintaining their motivation."
