Feyenoord recovered from their obliteration at Chelsea two weeks ago to win a game that puts them back into Group D contention.

They had to recover from an early blow when captain Kees van Wonderen was red carded in only the seventh minute. A professional foul on a running Florian Maurice saw him instantly dismissed but the goals did not go in for the Dutch champions until OM were also reduced in numbers.

Yannick Fischer was sent off in the 62nd minute for a second booking and Julio Cruz put the Rotterdam club in front only four minutes later when his long range effort flew nicely into the top corner of the net.

OM were stricken again when defender Sebantien Perez earned a second booking for a clumsy foul and the Dutch could take control of the game.

Paul Bosvelt scored with a header in the 83rd minute before Cruz struck again with a low drive in the dying seconds. Feyenoord must now travel to Rome on march 1st to play Group favourites SS Lazio while OM must beat Chelsea to stand any chance of making progress but the French side have home advantage.
